Team Lead
Yong Ji
I am Yong Ji, a second-year Biological Sciences student. I am our team lead in the Hackstarter competition. I eagerly want to explore Biology and utilise my research to make an impact. To fulfil this will, I am always on the road to unravelling higher academics, especially microbiology and immunology. I decided to participate in Hackstarter for multiple reasons: First, it can help me change the world using my project. Second, it helps assemble a group of like-minded teammates. Finally, our project is in my field of expertise (e.g. immunological rejection). I hope I can go further in Hackstarter with my teammates.
Zhi Ji
I am Zhi Ji (Jim). I am a first-year Biomedical Technology Ventures at Imperial College London. My research interests lie in disease-prediction models, cardiovascular dynamics, and preliminary AI.

I was the experimental group member of my high school iGEM team, and our team won the gold medal in the project: tea therapy for depression patients by utilising engineered E.coli to supply serotonin.

Before entering Hackstarter, I had relevant research challenge experiences. I led the KMTSJ team in the China Thinks Big Research Challenge and our team won the National First Prize with a project focusing on parent-child abusive language. We also addressed time-limited investment research for autonomous vehicles during the challenge. Now, as a member of our Hackstarter team, I hope we can step further in this competition.
Chloe Guo
I am Chloe (Xinyue) Guo, a passionate penultimate-year Biological Sciences student at Imperial College London. Consistently recognised in the High Honours roll for five years, I graduated high school in Montreal with the highest academic achievement in the school and entered CEGEP as a Director General’s scholarship recipient.

Committed to leveraging academic excellence to make a positive social impact, I published research on magneto-hydroelectricity propellor systems to reduce sea pollution in the Canadian Science Fair Journal. I aspire to help build a more sustainable community with my research interest in oncology, immunology, and genetics, contributing to longevity and global well-being. At the Hackstarter competition, I look forward to aiding dermatological treatments with the novel artificial skin extracted from biomaterials.
Ricky Zhang
My name is Xirui (Ricky) Zhang, and I am a first-year student majoring in Biomedical Technology Ventures at Imperial College London. I graduated from a high school in the United States with high recognition in both academic and athletic achievements. I have researched epidemic control systems, vaccine development, and cardiovascular medical instruments. I am also keenly interested in financial marketing and stock investment and actively participated in the U.S. pre-collage programs. I am very excited and looking forward to joining the team and participating in Hackstarter, my brand-new experience!
